Acne Rosacea Treatment

Acne rosacea is a chronic skin disease that affects nearly a third of the face, by stamping it all over with a harsh redness and tiny severe pimples. It even causes the blood vessels of the areas to enlarge and be visible. Not only does it stop here, but there is constant irritation and itchiness that gets worse when any face wash or soap is applied. Women mostly at the age of 30 to 50 suffer from this form of acne and sad to say, it can only be treated, but not entirely cured. It may occur on and off if left untreated; it could worsen by the passing time.

Untreated acne rosacea may develop into a condition by the name of rhinophyma which causes the nose to grow and the cheeks to be become red and puffy. This acne could also lead to impaired vision, if it is not treated in due time. Simple, over the counter medications however are not the cure for this kind of acne. They instead cause even more irritation and dryness and could actually damage the already sensitive skin.

People with this disease need medical help and also have to take pills on a strict regular prescription. The pills used are very strong and also have side effects. Pregnant ladies are strictly advised not to take these pills until you have medical approval. Topical antibiotics such as Metronidazole and Tetracycline are often used for acne rosacea treatment.

If you are suffering from this kind of acne, it is advised that you stay away from junk food as well as anything that is hot or spicy. These tend to aggravate the situation. Instead opt for something that is fresh and is not oily. Drink plenty of water, have vegetables and fruits and also avoid extreme hot or cold temperatures.

Also avoid the use of makeup as much as possible, because the elements in them tend to worsen the situation further. Use moisturizers/face washes suggested by the doctor.
